6 Best Ragdoll Cat Toys (2021 Reviews)

My Ragdoll Cat is an indoor only cat, so I really want her to have enough exercise, mental stimulation. So, from a place of love, I purchased so much toys… and these are what I found to be the best Ragdoll Cat toys.

We’ll talk about each toy first, then cover what about to look for in your own Ragdoll Cat toys. At the end, you’ll learn the hack to cat happiness!

Best Overall Ragdoll Cat Toy

YVE LIFE Cat Laser Toy

The YVE LIFE Cat Laser Toy is one of the best Ragdoll Cat toys in my eyes because it’s super effective, automated, and affordable. It totally tires out your Ragdoll Cat (in a fun way) sparing your furniture and carpet from destruction.

I know you’ve seen these toys on social media, where cats go absolutely insane chasing a red dot as it randomly darts across the floors and the room. Cats run and pounce and duck and jump – it’s amazing.

I thought my Ragdoll would be immune to the toy’s charms, but no. Toys like this appeal to all cats because the movement pattern of the dot is jerky and unpredictable – like a rat or live animal.

My Ragdoll Cat is a teenager, so in the prime of her life and very active. She’s also quite smart and gets bored with manual and repetitive toys (which is why you need assorted toys to keep Ragdoll Cats interested)

I already play with her 15 – 20 minutes a day using manual toys and encouraging her to scratch her post and cat trees. Sometimes two sessions daily.

And still she will get the “night crazies” or “zoomies” with claws out and start scratching some furniture or carpet. I know your Ragdoll Cat is the same – they bored!

The YVE LIFE Cat Laser Toy is the perfect solution – it has different laser settings for speed and pattern to keep your Ragdoll Cat interested.

The coolest part is that it can switch on every few hours and shuts off after 15 minutes to prevent overstimulation. You power the toy via USB or AA batteries – how convenient!

An important thing to keep in mind! After each playtime, give your Ragdoll Cat a bunch of snacks. This way, they get the gratification of chasing and eating their “prey” and it’s not just an empty hunt.

Runner Up Ragdoll Cat Toy

Catit Senses 2.0, Super Circuit

Honest opinion: the Catit Senses Super Circuit is one toy I am not a fan of.

Why? Because it makes a noise when under use, the sound of ball rolling back and forth in the plastic track.

Actually a soothing sound, not distracting a bit… in the daytime.

My Ragdoll Cat LOVES to bat this around at night, like right when the humans are heading to bed. Cats are nocturnal, so this is their prime time.

It almost like humans mowing the lawn at 7AM. Almost.

So, when I lay in bed at night, I hear the swish swish of a ball moving.

There are worst things – like a guilty conscience if my Ragdoll were bored. So I deal with it. Yikes, I really spoil her!

My breeder recommended the Catit Senses Super Circuit, giving it high marks for its durability and longevity in holding on to her cat’s attention – from kitten to adulthood!

This is a track toy, meaning there is an object lodged in a track and it can roll freely and unpredictable.

You can take apart the track and even purchase more pieces to customize the shape of the track. This provides more variety in play for your Ragdoll Cat.

your Ragdoll Cat will love to bat at the bright ball and watch it rocket along the track. My girl is fond of the circular pattern, that way the balls come by fast!

They can attack it again from another point of the track or from the top, where there is some track exposed.

True to the breeder’s word, I purchased this when Chelle was a kitten and now a few years later, she still plays with it.

This Catit Senses Super Circuit is constructed of heavy duty plastic and withstands Ragdoll Cat bites and claws. Beware not to lose a ball because it can come loose while fiddling with the track.

Super Stimulating Ragdoll Cat Toy

Petstages Interactive 4-Tier Track Toy

The core concept is simple, like with all our winners. A few bright colored balls are trapped in a multi-level track.

Your Ragdoll Cat swats at one ball… it goes around…

And another ball on another level comes around.

She freaks out and jumps with excitement.

It’s on like Donkey-Kong then, my friends. She is pouncing, running, leaping, stalking and much more as those balls go around the track.

And as the tracks at the top are small, with each swat of the balls, they come back even faster! See the Petstages 3 Tower below in action.

And FYI Ragdoll Cats need 4 levels, 3 is too low for them.

Ragdoll Cats were a working class breed in the past, with superior skills as a mouser and vermin-catcher. So, they have these skills that we humans don’t really value anymore.

Yet, it’s important to get your Ragdoll Cat to express these natural needs for stimulation and exercise. Otherwise you’re gonna find some destruction in your home, especially if your Ragdoll Cat is strictly indoors.

My Ragdoll Cat can play with the Petstages Interactive 4-Tier Track Toy for hours! And the best part (sarcasm) is she is most active with it around 11PM-12AM, when I am trying to sleep.

Super Popular Ragdoll Cat Toy

Bergan Turboscratcher Cat Toy

The Bergan Turboscratcher appeals to a Ragdoll Cat’s need to swat at things and sink the claws into them. Basically, it’s a version of concentrated hunting practice in toy form.

The toy’s concept and sturdy construction is great. Plus, it’s made in the USA. Nothing stands out or is obnoxious, so no shiny LEDs or battery powered widgets here.

It’s simple, and that’s good because it means less parts to break under extreme use!

As you can see above, the product itself is a circular cardboard pad surrounded by a moat or ring. Then there is a ball in the ring that goes round and round. Ohhh that ball…

Ragdoll Cats go nuts about that ball’s movement when going round, and they really dig into that cardboard center.

You also need to see the frenzy of Ragdoll Cat claws and paws when you sprinkle a bit of catnip.

My girl gets on her side and goes at it with all 4 limbs, playing tether ball with herself! Good thing the Turboscratcher Cat Toy is simple and solid.

Another plus: the scratch pad is different than typical cat tree sisal material, so even if your Ragdoll Cat doesn’t care about the ball, they have another texture to scratch.

Best Budget Ragdoll Cat Toys

Mibote 30 Pieces Assorted Cat Toys

We all know how finicky cats can be. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve purchased something for my Ragdoll Cat and she ends up enjoying the box it came in more than the item itself.

That’s why the Mibote Assorted Cat Toys package is the perfect toy starter pack, at a great price too. Stuffed with 16 different toy variations, you can totally see what your Ragdoll Cat responds to. Such great value for money.

The assortment includes:

  • chew toys
  • rolling balls
  • aerial toys
  • a tunnel
  • fake mice and fish containing catnip

My Ragdoll loves anything that resembles a tail flailing about or anything flying through the air randomly, so the feather wand and teaser wand are her favorites.

Maybe your Ragdoll Cat is in zooming through the tunnel or batting a ball around! Catnip is also in the tree bark chew toy and fish, so you’ll see if your Ragdoll Cat is a responder to kitty weed. (Some cats are not.)

All toys are made from non-toxic materials of course, and decent quality. They won’t last forever at this price point, but you’d have done your homework at this point.

You know what your Ragdoll Cat likes, and you can buy a more substantial version of it!

Best Catnip Toy

Yeowww! Yellow Banana Catnip Toy 3 Pack

You know we had to include the kitty weed right in a list of the best Ragdoll Cat toys, right?

Yeowww! Yellow Banana Catnip Toy is a well known plush toy filled with premium catnip. Yes, it’s completely packed with it, and at 7 inches in length, it’s Ragdoll Cat sized too.

I also recommend the 3 pack banana. It’s in the interest of hygiene, your kitty will be drooling, biting, licking, salivating the banana. After sufficient time or until the fabric rips, consider swapping it.

Don’t wait til it’s shredded and leaking catnip, because then it’s like sending yourself glitter. Boom! Catnip explodes everywhere and you break out the vacuum and swear a lot.

If your Ragdoll Cat is a responder, get ready for some intoxicated kitty. It’s hilarious!

My Ragdoll will bite at the Yeowww! Catnip Banana, scratch, use her hind legs too, and get on over the ground – writhing in bliss, it seems like.

It occupies her for about half an hour or so, then she moves on to something else. Or falls asleep LOL.

While catnip is something not all cats will respond to, it’s worth a try to provide some novelty.

I’ve purchased cat nip in miscellaneous pouches from the pet store before…. and I can say they 100% do not elicit the same response as the organically grown flower-top blend of catnip from this brand.

By the way, the Banana will hold the catnip smell for a pretty long length of time, I would say more than a few months. TO be honest, your Ragdoll Cat probably destroys the outside before the catnip wears off.

What to Look For In Ragdoll Cat Toys

The best Ragdoll Cat toys need to have certain qualities. After all, Ragdoll Cats themselves have certain qualities too in their personality that humans value.

The toys ought to be like Ford – built tough. The Ragdoll Cat breed of cats are 15-25 pounds and every bit of them conveys mass.

Meaning they can destroy dainty toys with a swipe of their super-sized paws, more than 50% larger than a regular cat.

What Do Ragdoll Cats Like to Play With?

Ragdoll Cat toys cannot be one dimensional. They need to inspire movement and appeal to a Ragdoll Cat’s innate drive to hunt.

This breed is very intelligent and curious, which can lead them to being over a product once the shiny-object-syndrome disappears.

So the products need to contain an element of surprise as well. Or maybe catnip.

Looking for Ragdoll Cat Kittens for Sale?

If you’ve stumbled here and are looking for Ragdoll Cat kittens for sale, the best place to go is your local cat shows. Breeders and catteries congregate at these competitions and often show off their best cats!

Another avenue is to look online of course – Google and social media.

Most catteries have websites nowadays and some are very active on Facebook and Instagram, delighting followers with new litters and kitten progress.

Want the Best Brush for Ragdoll Cats?

As a Ragdoll Cat owner you don’t need one brush, you need at least two. First you’ll want a deep, wide teeth slicker brush for daily grooming. I recommend the Hertzko Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush.

Second is a deshedding brush to remove loose undercoat that won’t shed on its own, my favorite is the Furminator Longhair Deshedding Tool.

See my complete post on essential Ragdoll Cat brushes.
